WATER CRISIS

So if you live in Georgia, then you know the serious water situation we are in. Chances are you've heard it outside of the state too. On Tuesday, our governor, Sonny Perdue, held a prayer meeting on the steps of the Capitol Building asking God to send rain. It was a bold move to make on his part being that church and state are supposed to remain separate. There were about 20 people picketing a block away. It doesn't surprise me but none the less, it makes me sad. They were atheists and agnostics and they said that Sonny didn't have the right to pray to God on the capitol steps and on behalf of all of the citizens of Georgia.

I just don't get it.

If they don't believe in God, than why would they be offended at people coming together to pray to something that doesn't exsist? I mean, if you want to pray to a log, I don't care. It's not going to do anything because i don't believe in the power of the log. if they don't believe in prayer, then why go to the trouble to criticize those who do? Geez, what 's the worst that could happen? We get rain?

They also said that he didn't have a right to bring his personal beliefs into the situation. Well, that's what the minority get to do. One woman complained about prayer in schools in 1973 and look what happened. It got taken out. And someone else is complaining about the use of the word CHRISTMAS and now it's not politically correct to say it. There is an 83 year old grandmother that has been decorating the tree in her housing complex for years and years, and this year they told her she can't use angels, the star of David, or a nativity scene in her decorating. ouch. I bet these people don't have a problem with make believe santa. then why such a problem with make believe Jesus? Oh. because the bible says that Jesus offends the mind and reveals the heart. Santa doesn't do that.

Here are a few pictures from Sonny's speech. There were a ton of media, ( of course ) lots of policemen and about 250 supporters. I guess people have forgotten that this country was built on the principles of the bible. It's even on our money..."In God we trust". People are complaining about that too.

What are your thoughts on this?

I admire the faith of the person who brought the umbrella.
A red talked hawk came to listen to the Governor, he circled around a few times.
There were about 9 of us who went, and we got there a little late. They had security keeping people off the grass so we had to stand off to the side near a statue.

AWESOME!!!!

And yeah, that's very sad. And they'd probably get mad at the point made there. That Jesus offends the heart of those that don't truly believe. :(

Who all went with you?

It's ok, I'm not trying to be a people pleaser, I'm trying to stand up for what I believe.

If you don't stand up for something, You'll fall for anything.
