Welcome to the world Julianna!

My sweet friend Julie had her baby on March 30. This is her third daughter and she is adorable. I tried to be an invisible ninja and sneak into the room for the birth but the nurse radar was heavy and I got kicked out. Silly rules. Next time I will wear my invisible jacket, that should help. I did get in just moments after Julie reached down and delivered her baby herself. Ya, that's right, she caught her own baby and pulled her up on her belly. Totally amazing.

Her husband Matt was there but his thumb got ripped off and sewn back on a month ago in an accident at work, so they were cautious about him catching her. Their oldest daughter, Gabriella, was in the room for the birth and she really got a kick out of it all. I think she is changed for life. Little Aliya fell asleep in the waiting room and nothing could wake her to meet her baby sister. Ah, if we could all sleep so sound. There were plently of family and friends to help welcome Julianna. It was all such a thrill.

It is so exciting to be present when a new life comes into the world. I am so amazed at the gift of life and how a woman carries a baby in her own body for 40 weeks, and then out comes this miniature person who is ready to breathe and sleep and be totally dependant upon her parents for every single need she has. It's almost overwhelming if I spend too much time thinking about it. The enormous responsibility of raising a child cannot be understood until you have one of your own. The way that your heart is instantly triple sized at the first glance of this tiny life that has just been born is amazing. I am so blessed to be able to be a part of this experience myself, but to also share it with other people is just like icing on the cake.

Thanks Matt and Julie for inviting me in and congratulations on your new little darling.
